Frequently Asked Questions
Before you get on the water
The essential answers in one place.
If your question is not covered, email or call the organizers.
I have never tried SUP before. Is that a problem?
No. Stand-up paddling is quick to learn and mostly requires a sense of balance. A short introduction and practice session is held at the event location.
Is there a minimum age?
There is no lower age limit, although children under 8–9 usually enjoy long-distance paddling less. Participation is free for children under ten.
How can children take part?
Children aged 12–16 may paddle on a separate board with close adult supervision. Children under 12 must share a board with a parent or another supervising adult.
Can two people use one SUP?
Yes, on an owned or rented board, provided the combined weight does not exceed 130 kg. Only one board rental is needed, but the participation fee is per person.
Can I join if I cannot swim?
Everyone participates at their own risk, so swimming ability is recommended. A life jacket is compulsory for every participant throughout the event.
What if I cannot complete the full distance?
Escort boats follow the group and are prepared for this situation. Anyone who feels unwell or needs to stop will receive assistance.
